There are two major problems with conducting surveys online....

  1. Inherent E-mail Problems
Nearly 20% of all legitimate commercial e-mail is filtered as SPAM.  Online research companies regularly send out millions of e-mail invitations.  Many of these e-mail messages end up being "bit-bucketed" where even though the member signed up and double opted in, it is mistakenly filtered as SPAM due to the sheer volume from a single party.  Additionally, most panel members receive so much e-mail everyday that our invitations are often lost in a sea of other e-mail messages.  People might look at an invitation at an inconvenient time and forget to participate.  A large percentage of internet users change their e-mail addresses every year - so contact with members that registered often comes to an abrupt and premature end. This coupled with the fact that it is impossible to determine if someone received and opened your invitation makes sample selection and response rate management difficult.
As a result of these numerous problems, many research groups choose to inefficiently "over build" their panels and "over sample" to get to the desired number of completed survey responses.

  2. Lack of quality visual aids
Marketing research is requiring high quality visual aids within their studies for the purposes showing a new product concept or service.  Hi-definition video within surveys is a difficult proposition because broadband isn't in the majority of households yet.  High quality and consistent video is required for concept testing, advertising, and other forms of research.  Even with broadband, streaming technologies often fail to present a consistent high quality video standard due to brief interruptions in internet connectivity or lack of bandwidth.

The Benefits of A Private Communication Channel to your Panel

After 3 years of R&D testing and prototyping, GfK created an application named Surveys.com PromptCAST© which solves these two problems while making the interviewing experience more convenient, entertaining, and enjoyable for the end survey participant.    Surveys.com PromptCAST© allows GfK to efficiently manage  panels and samples with far greater precision than any other marketing research company.

Two core features:

ALERT NOTIFICATION: Panel members are notified with an alert in the lower right hand corner of their computer when a survey is available. This is done gracefully through an instant messenger style alert.  The member can accept or decline the survey invitation.  Their response is sent back immediately.  Numerous follow-up reminder e-mails are unnecessary.  Using this application, we completely bypass inboxes of clutter.  Also worthy to note, if someone changes their e-mail address, we are still able to contact them through our private channel.

SUPER HIGH QUALITY VIDEO &  ENHANCED MULTI-MEDIA SURVEYS: Panel members can see videos of products and services (e.g. pharmaceutical products, technologies, financial services, automobiles, and everyday grocery store items) before the rest of the world.
Members that install this application will be able to participate in surveys that incorporate high quality video. Content is downloaded in the background. When viewed, the video starts immediately - no caching or streaming wait time is required because the entire video is already entirely pre-downloaded.  If the internet connection is severed, the downloads will resume when the connection is re-established.
In many cases, plain vanilla HTML surveys aren't cutting it any longer.  Using our Surveys.com PromptCAST© application, we can push large enriched surveys leveraging advanced multi-media technologies such as Macromedia Flash.

The entire application is firewall and proxy server friendly.  The installation is a one-click activeX control that launches InstallShield.  InstallShield then displays GfK's software license agreement.

When panel members install the Surveys.com PromptCAST© program, the installer will NOT put any monitoring software (e.g. "spyware", "adware", or otherwise hidden applications) on their system.  The application does NOT install or "piggyback" any advertising modules or "spyware" which can track users' web surfing habits or anything else they might not know about.

The application can be easily uninstalled at any time and is not hidden or obfuscated in anyway.  Members can uninstall from their "start menu" or within their "add/remove programs" section in Windows.

By installing and using the Surveys.com PromptCAST© program, all you get is our program... nothing else.
